Ašot Haas

The artist with his timeless works combines the real and virtual world through new materials and technologies. He often uses basal shapes, a circle and a square, which transforms into the third dimension. He is interested in and lured by new perspective on modern technology and its use in art, which he seeks to respond to the current time. He experiments with different technologies and materials, which he leaves in abstract and geometric form. His work is characterized by minimalist form, for which, however, hides a complex equation. It is essential for the artist’s interactivity with the audience, to make himself part of the transformation and influence the work itself.

Ašot Haas was born in 1981 in Moscow. In 2000 he graduated from the Secondary School of Applied Arts in Bratislava in the field of Sculpture. In the years 2000-2007 he studied at the Bratislava Academy of Fine Arts, where he held several disciplines. He studied in the studio of Industrial Design (F. Chrenka), Transport Design (S. Klein) Glass Design (J. Gavula) and sculptures, objects, installation (J. Meliš). In 2006 he won first prize for a one minute film at the International Film Festival in Bratislava and in 2007 he was awarded the prestigious Gallery of Nova Prize for glass.
